In Homeland, Carrie Mathison gets some cafeine pills, grinds them and sniffs them in order to stay awake/alert. Until I saw this I had no idea it was an option. It's not a choice I'd make (we know how well cafeine agrees with me) but if I convinced myself I have done that, will I be able to placebo myself into feeling awake?

There's a site called Writer's Database that does pretty much the same thing as duotrope but for free. I haven't had a chance to explore it yet. I am very attached to duotrope, though.
